Iron Hills Goat Riders and Banner

I've been really enjoying painting Iron Hills lately, but I've loved no models more than these awesome Goat Riders from Davale Games.

These guys were such a joy to paint! Pretty straightforward- I just used the good ol' slapchop method on the goats and painted the boys up from black base coat.

Next up is the Captain, also from Davale. Loved this sculpt, though he is missing both his shield and his warspear. I opted to leave the shield off, as I have it on my dismount... but I added a spear to the dead orc on his base to remind myself he has it!

Last from the latest batch of Iron Hills is a banner. Quite a fun model to paint!

500 point tournament report with Rivendell

I was really excited to play in a 500 point tournament over the weekend! It was the second of four connected tournaments in the "To War!" escalation series hosted at Your Hobby Place in Fredericksburg, VA. Ambush at Amon Hen!

Chris and I were looking to get a game in, but neither of us were feeling anything particularly "sweaty", or "meta" and so opted to do something I have yet to try in ME- play a scenario! With my recently completed fellowship we opted for the Ambush at Amon Hen.
